Some fashion weeks follow trends. Others create entirely new conversations.
From September 3rd to 5th, 2026, Reykjavík becomes the meeting point for designers, buyers, media, and creatives from around the world as Erlendur Fashion Week Iceland (EFWI) returns for its third edition. This year, Fashion Connect is proud to join the event as an Official Media Partner and International Show Promoter, marking the start of a strategic collaboration dedicated to bringing Icelandic fashion onto the global stage.
This partnership represents far more than media coverage. It reflects a shared commitment to championing emerging talent, forging international connections, and introducing one of Europe’s most distinctive creative landscapes to the worldwide fashion industry.

A New Chapter for Nordic Fashion
Iceland has quietly become one of fashion’s most exciting creative territories. Drawing on dramatic landscapes, environmental consciousness, and exceptional craftsmanship, its designers are redefining what contemporary luxury can look like through a uniquely minimalist aesthetic. Rather than following the established capitals, Reykjavík is building an identity entirely its own, rooted in authenticity, sustainability, innovation, and cultural expression.
Erlendur Fashion Week Iceland was founded with exactly this vision: to create an international platform where Icelandic creativity can meet global opportunity.
Reykjavík isn’t following the
fashion capitals.
It’s becoming one of its own.
Fashion Connect’s Role
As Official Media Partner and International Show Promoter, Fashion Connect takes an active role in promoting Erlendur Fashion Week Iceland before, during, and after the event. This is more than a logo on a poster; it is a commitment to carrying the event’s designers, energy, and vision to the world.
Through editorial features, exclusive interviews, digital campaigns, and international networking, Fashion Connect will amplify the voices of participating designers while introducing the event to buyers, journalists, influencers, and brands across international markets. Our objective is clear: to raise the visibility of Iceland’s creative industry and help establish Reykjavík as an essential destination on the global fashion calendar
Why Erlendur Fashion Week Matters
Today’s fashion industry is increasingly looking beyond traditional capitals in search of originality, authenticity, and emerging talent. Erlendur Fashion Week Iceland offers exactly that. Across four days, the event brings together:
- Runway presentations featuring Icelandic and international designers
- Buyer and media appointments
- Industry networking and international collaborations
- Backstage access and exclusive experiences
- Official receptions and cultural events
The opportunity looks different for everyone who attends. For designers, it offers valuable international exposure and a direct path into new markets. For buyers, it provides early access to emerging brands before they reach larger markets. For media, it presents compelling stories rooted in creativity, sustainability, and innovation. And for the wider industry, it is a chance to discover one of Europe’s fastest-growing creative destinations before the rest of the world catches up.
Building International Connections
Fashion has always been driven by collaboration. The partnership between Fashion Connect and Erlendur Fashion Week Iceland is founded on a shared ambition to build stronger links between the Nordic region and the international fashion community.
By connecting designers with media, buyers, investors, tourism partners, and creative organisations, this collaboration aims to generate meaningful opportunities that extend well beyond the runway. It is a partnership focused not only on visibility, but on long-term industry development.

Throughout Erlendur Fashion Week Iceland 2026, Fashion Connect’s editorial team will document the stories, people, and creativity that define the event, from exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes access to runway coverage and designer features, introducing our international audience to the next generation of Nordic fashion.
This is only the beginning of what we believe will become a lasting collaboration, dedicated to celebrating creativity without borders.
The North is rising, and Fashion Connect is proud to help tell its story.
